Shave correctly & avoid razor bumps: These tips will help
Shaving properly is easier said than done. It all starts with the question of dry shaving or wet shaving (spoiler: wet shaving is a little gentler on your skin.) Find the best tips for technique, care and co. to banish razor bumps and razor burn from your life.
Exfoliating before shaving: why the extra step is worth it
Exfoliate before shaving? Sounds like extra work, but it's worth it! Exfoliation gently removes dead skin cells and ensures that your razor glides better. Less irritation, fewer ingrown hairs and a smoother result - sounds good, doesn't it?
And it's never been easier than with our Liquid Peeling with AHA and PHA. It exfoliates the skin without rubbing, simply spray on, leave on and rinse off - done! This makes exfoliating before shaving super easy and is gentle on sensitive skin.
Be extra-soft on your skin and don't use the scrub directly before shaving, but simply 1-2 times a week. Your skin will love it!

Shaving tips: Razor, shaving gel & technique
Here are our tips to help you shave properly and avoid razor burn:
- Shaving in the shower is particularly gentle because the warm water softens the hair.
- Shave in the evening or in the morning? Shaving in the evening has the advantage that your skin has time to calm down afterwards.
- Choose the right razor: Multi-blade razors can be gentler as they catch many hairs in one shave. You decide whether to use a reusable or disposable razor - the former is of course the more sustainable choice.
- Shave in the direction of growth or against the direction of growth? Shaving in the direction of growth is gentler, shaving against the direction of growth catches even the smallest hairs. More sensitive areas of the body in particular benefit from a gentler shave in the direction of growth.
- Take the pressure off: Let the blades glide over the skin instead of applying too much pressure - this reduces the risk of micro-injuries.
- Keep blades clean and change regularly: After about 5-10 shaves, it's time for fresh blades so they don't dull and stress your skin.
- Game changer: shaving gel! Forget shower gel residue, it only dries out your skin. With shaving gel, the razor glides smoothly over the skin and ensures less irritation - without any razor bumps.
Care after shaving: The freestyle for radiant skin
After shaving, your skin needs an extra dose of care to keep it soothed and nourished:
- Pat your skin dry after shaving instead of rubbing it - it is particularly sensitive now.
- You can minimise razor burn by soothing your skin after shaving. A good moisturising after-shave lotion is a must.
- After-shave care is not only important to avoid irritation, but also makes your skin glow.
